Privacy Policy

The short version: no ads, no third-party trackers, and we collect as little as possible — especially from kids. Here is exactly what that means.

Last updated: July 11, 2026

No ads. No trackers.

There are no banner ads, no video ads, and no advertising networks in the Poopy Duck app, on this website, or in our browser games. We do not embed third-party advertising trackers, and we do not build behavioral ad profiles of anyone — child or adult. (Songs you choose to watch on YouTube itself carry YouTube's own ads; the app version does not.)

Service providers

No trackers doesn't mean no infrastructure. Here is the complete list of third parties Poopy Duck relies on — for both a visit to this website and the app — and when each one is involved:

  • Google Cloud (hosting) — this website is served from Google Cloud. Like any web host, it processes your IP address to deliver the pages.
  • Google Cloud Storage (character art) — the character pictures on the home, characters, and play pages load from storage.googleapis.com. Google receives the standard image request (your IP address); no cookies or identity attached.
  • YouTube (videos, only after you tap) — song videos load through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), and only after you tap a poster. Until that tap, nothing is sent to YouTube.
  • Google Cloud (app backend) — when a parent creates an account, the app stores the kid profile and app activity (progress, favorites, stars, watch history) on Google Cloud so progress syncs across your family's devices. It is our own storage; there are no ads, and no third parties get this data.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play (billing) — when purchases are available, any payment for the app is processed by Apple or Google under their own billing terms. Purchases aren't live yet.

Fonts are self-hosted — no font CDN sees your visit. Apart from the app backend above — which is our own storage on Google Cloud — none of these providers get your name or your kid's profile, and none of them advertise to your family or build ad profiles.

Anonymous by default

You can use Poopy Duck without giving us a name, an email, or any sign-up at all. Each installation gets an anonymous device identifier so the app can remember your settings and progress on that device. That anonymous identity is not tied to your real-world identity unless a parent chooses to create an account.

Browser-game progress on this website stays in your own browser's local storage — it is not sent to us with your name attached.

What we store about a child

When a parent sets up a kid profile, the only personal details we store about that child are:

  • A first name (or nickname) — whatever the parent types.
  • A birth month and year — used only to show age-appropriate content.

We do not store a child's full date of birth, a child's email address, photos, precise location, or contact information. Beyond the profile above, a kid profile holds only the app activity needed to make the app work — things like which songs and games have been played, favorites, and earned stars — used to track progress and suggest what to play next. Deleting a kid profile removes all of that kid's data.

Parental gates & accounts

Creating an account, making a purchase, changing settings, and following external links all sit behind an adult-only parental gate — a child cannot complete them alone. A parent account is optional; when a parent chooses to sign up, we store the account email and a securely hashed password so the account can be recovered and synced across the family's devices. We never ask a child for an email or password.

How we use data

We use the limited data above only to run the app: to show age-appropriate content, remember progress across a family's devices, keep the service secure, and respond when you contact us. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

COPPA & children

Poopy Duck is built for families, and we designed it to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We collect no more from a child than the first name and birth month/year described above, we gate anything that leaves the kid experience behind an adult, and we run no advertising and no third-party trackers.

A parent can, at any time and by a single email: review their child's data, refuse to permit any further collection or use of it, and have it deleted. We never disclose a child's personal information to third parties, and we never make a child's participation contingent on providing more data than the activity needs.

Data retention

We keep a kid profile and the parent account only while they're active, and only to run the app — remembering progress and syncing across your family's devices. When a parent deletes a kid profile or account (or asks us to), we delete that data. We don't hold on to it any longer than the service needs.

Your choices

Account and profile data belongs to the parent. You can delete a kid profile in the app, or ask us to delete your account and all associated data — one email, no hoops. We will confirm when it's done.
